How It Works

Azolla Certified is an accreditation that your customers can trust. By conducting an Azolla Certified assessment of your product, your customers are provided proof that you are manufacturing responsibly and completing careful supply chain oversight.

New research shows that customers are becoming increasingly conscious when it comes to the environmental and ethical impacts of their purchasing decisions. Price and convenience are no longer the only purchase drivers for consumers, with global impact becoming increasingly front of mind.

Customers are also inclined to pay more for the reassurance of ethical practice, with two-thirds of consumers willing to splurge on products associated with a sustainable or socially conscious brand. Additionally, 70% of individuals will pay more for products that do not infringe on human rights. [1]

39% of Australians don’t know which brands are ethical [2]. Azolla Certified serves as the leading trust seal that customers can rely on to educate them on these practices.

Tailored recommendation and improvements journey

When the audit is completed, we condense the findings into a simple certification report, which uses a points system to determine the rating of the conditions in which your product is manufactured. This provides actionable findings in regard to your supply chain.

You can then use these recommendations to leverage and work with the manufacturers within your supply chain to improve their working standards and business practices, providing a regulatory reason to base your requirements.

You are provided with the following:

  • The detailed audit report/s
  • Your tailored audit ratings
  • A list of recommendations for you to work with your factory on improving
  • A declaration to be signed by your company directors as a commitment to implement the recommendations and strive to improve your factory rating next year
  • Branded certification and portable badge. Web and code enabled versions that can be shared online and placed on product packaging.

After the declaration is signed, the product/s are approved for a 12 month period of certification

Proving your business’ commitment to improve

The Modern Slavery Act requires businesses with revenue over $100 million (or $50 million in NSW), to report on modern slavery risks, any actions taken and their effectiveness.

Azolla Certified pioneers in their report standard to cater specifically to the requirements of this act, making it significantly more cost-effective than many competing certifications.

For all companies, regardless of size, gaining transparency in the ethical practices of manufacturing in their supply chain is critical. There are heavy penalties for non-compliance.
